key lime pie pavlova

As much as I love a fat slice of chocolate cake - there’s nothing like a tart summer fruit dessert. But but BUT! I don’t really fw a warm fruit dessert. Strawberry galette - ehhhhh. Strawberry shortcake with macerated strawberries - YUUUHHH!! And so a few weeks ago I had a slice of key lime pie from Steve’s Authentic Key Lime in Red Hook (you should go) and I was reminded how scrumdiliumpcious key lime pie is. We opted for a tiny hand pie between 4 people since we were coming off a day long food crawl, but we all agreed that the 1 bite per person actually ended up being perfect because key lime pie gets a bit bored after. Although, if we’re being real I obviously would’ve bodied an entire slice, especially from Steve’s.

pasta salad summer is so back

I feel like I’ve waited precisely 365 days for this day. It’s been a long, cold winter. A rainy ass spring. I will say, it was a beautiful fall. But even though we’re technically still in spring - everyone knows memorial day weekend is the unofficial start to summer. Hence, we begin,

mother's day brunch roundup

You know how parents are always saying they don’t want anything for holidays? Like, “your presence is a present, or quality time is the best gift of all.” Yeah well my mom will hit you with a link to the Nike sneakers she’s been wanting, with her size and color preference. But for Mother’s Day, all she wants is to spend the day together (no links were s…

more laab for dinner

I remember the first time I tried laab at a thai restaurant (the same day I tried congee). It was Noods ‘N Chill in Williamsburg (delicious when I last when like 4 years ago fyi) But you know damn well I wasn’t the one ordering the meat salad on the menu. It was my boyfriends idea, for the gAIiiInNNs. I obliged to allowing him to order it for the table …

big ass couscous spoon salad

Hell yes sisters, another salad that doesn’t suck. You do not need to suffer through pathetic, leafy, flavorless salads no mo! There’s so many better options out there!! Take todays salad for instance. Shall we break her down? pearled couscous: the elite couscous variety. so satisfying. little pasta boba. perfectly satiates the craving for some carbs in a salad

a really good kiwi cucumber marg

Just because all men are liars (punxsutawney phil), it may still be snowing wherever you live and nyc just had an earthquake - doesn’t mean we can’t still enjoy a nice margarita with the in-season kiwis stocking the shelves right now. I mean, if we don’t

we have brunch at home

I’ve aired out my beef with brunch (specifically traditional brunch food, the level of mid it is, and the overpriced tag on 2 deviled eggs) across the entire world wide web at this point. But my final destination, is right here on substack, right in time for easter sunday <3

babushka's blinchiki

I was SO happy to see how well received these blinchiki were on IG + Tiktok. Because if they weren’t, that would’ve been a direct attack on my babushka and then we’d be fightin. But really, it meant to much for me to share a little bit of my childhood and ~culture~ with you. So slay blinchiki. If you missed

Do you guys smell what I’m smelling? Stanky provolone, crisssp lettuce, fresh basil, spicy roasted chickpeas??? Oh you don’t……well it’s probably because you haven’t made this salad yet!!!!!!! In fear of appearing like the stock images of girls laughing with salads in their hands, I will tame my excitement for this new series of
